Boiled ginger and coke, a superb common cold remedy
Coca Cola (Coke) works best because it’s still made with sugar in China, instead of the syrup used elsewhere.
Ginger and lemon are perhaps the active ingredients because they alleviate the symptoms of a chilly, but the orthophosphoric acid during a coke (dish) is seemingly good for digestion and stimulates appetite.
The elixir is formed by gently boiling coca-cola during a saucepan and adding finely sliced or crushed ginger.
The ginger rises to the surface and sparkles within the simmering liquid, then the primary hint of the sinus-clearing aroma quickly fills the space. After a couple of minutes of flavour infusion, it’s poured into a cup and possibly a couple of lemon slices added for vitamin C.
It should be drunk hot, to urge the double burning sensation of warmth and ginger.
This has an instantaneous effect on pharyngitis while the fumes loosen a stuffy nose.
The caffeine in Coca Cola awakens the senses and ginger warm the whole body from the within.
If you would like a recipe, here is what you need:
– 1 can of coke
– 1 inch of ginger will make it spicy, although one inch per 250 ml works far better
-Unwaxed lemon slices (optional)
-Thinly slice the ginger and place it during a saucepan with the Coke. Simmer for a couple of minutes to infuse the flavours, then pour into a cup and add the lemon slices. Drink hot for max effect. Warning: not surprisingly, the contents are often got.
